378 Gifford Avenue
1907 Arts and Craft Bungalow

The home was purchased by Michael and Coleen Coleman in 2003 from the previous owners who had owned the home for fifty years. The home had never been remodeled and maintained its original charm. The house was a perfect fit for the Coleman’s since
Michael, a contractor, would have an ongoing project he enjoyed.

As you can imagine, if virtually nothing had been done to the house since it was built, it needed a lot of tender loving care. In the interior, the floors were stripped of the multi-color laminate floor tiles (a different color in every room) and the wood floors re-finished. The walls were painted, new cabinets, granite counter tops and appliances were installed in the kitchen and the bathroom was remolded. New wiring, plumbing and an air-conditioning/heating system were installed. On the exterior, corbels, knees and a decorative appliqué were added and the house was painted. Front yard landscaping was installed as well.

This is a works in progress. As you can see, the built in china cabinet in the dining room is currently being worked on. The cabinet doors will be getting new leaded glass and the cabinet will be painted. New windows, backyard landscaping and a small deck are on the horizon. This is a labor of love for Michael and Coleen and the work will continue.
