463 Menker Avenue
1946 Style Bungalow
Brian Saccomano and Michelle Hack’s home was our “hard hat” house in 2005. They have since completed their renovations and moved in. This home belonged to Brian’s grandmother and had fallen into severe disrepair.
Brian and Michelle worked a year before they could occupy their home. They stripped and refinished all (yes, all!) the woodwork. Michelle even went so far as to use a dental tool to make sure every bit of paint was removed, and then they hired a professional to do the finish.
The high wooden plate rail and full-paneled dining room are common in Arts & Crafts houses. The pocket windows in the back bedroom were repaired into working condition. These pocket windows are unique to several of the houses in our neighborhood.
They created a modern bathroom with the color and Kohler sink, but maintained the look and feel of a bungalow with the claw-foot tub.
