Our creeks and rivers need our help. Come and join your neighbors and friends on Saturday, September 21, from 9 a.m. to noon to help clean our waterways during Coastal Cleanup Day. I will be personally attending SITE #20: 447 W Saint John St. on St. John Bridge, San Jose – Guadalupe River.
Did you know that last year volunteers picked up nearly 104,000 lbs. of trash from creeks in Santa Clara County? That’s equivalent to the weight of 38 midsize sedans!
In addition to the time that our volunteers will spend on Saturday cleaning our rivers and creeks, Valley Water continues the trash removal efforts year-round to restore creeks, improve water quality, and foster suitable habitat for fish. Together we are making a difference in our local waterways.
We hope to see you all there Saturday morning. Remember to wear long pants and sturdy shoes, sunscreen and bring your own reusable water bottle to stay hydrated.
