Buena Vista Dumpster Day



Councilmember Dev Davis and the Council District 6 Office are bringing a Free Dumpster Day to the Buena Vista neighborhood!

This event is intended to allow local residents to properly dispose of items that are typically difficult to get rid of and often cannot be disposed of in their weekly trash collection; businesses and non-residents will be turned away.

The event is happening Saturday, June 9th at the corner of Page and West San Carlos from 9-Noon!

You must provide proof of Buena Vista residency to participate!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FREE Neighborhood Clean-Up Event Saturday, June 9th, 2018 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 or until bins are full Page Street near W San Carlos ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ITEMS ACCEPTED AT CLEAN-UP EVENT:

  • A/Cs-FREEZERS: Air Conditioners, Freezers, Refrigerators

  • CARPET-SOFAS: Carpet, Carpet Padding, Recliners, Sofas

  • CRTs-TVs (limit 3 per household): Cellphones, Computers, Laptops, Monitors, TVs

  • PLASTICS (items WITHOUT recycle symbol):

  • Computer Accessories, Computer Printers, Milk Crates, Plastic

  • Pipes, Plastic Toys, Plastic Lawn Furniture, Small Plastic Appliances, Packaging, Styrofoam

  • MATTRESSES: Box Springs, Futons, Mattresses

  • RUBBISH (NO garbage!)

  • For items not accepted at other bins, such as:

  • Chicken Wire

  • Concrete Powder

  • Countertops

  • Furniture

  • Glass & Pottery

  • Granite & Marble

  • Particleboard &Plywood

  • Toilets, TV Stands

  • Railroad Ties

  • Rebar

  • Wood– chemically or pressure treated or with varnish, paint, or nails.

  • METAL:

  • Dishwashers

  • Lawn Mowers (empty any gas & oil)

  • Metal Furniture (remove any non-metal parts)

  • Stoves

  • Washers & Dryers

  • Water Heaters

  • Small Metal Appliances

  • WOOD:

  • Clean wood ONLY - NO painted, nailed, chemically or pressure treated wood.

  • Lumber,

  • Fencing-not pressure treated,

  • Wood-free of any paint

  • varnish or nails

  • TIRES: All sizes of rims okay

DO NOT BRING:

Household Garbage, Recyclables, or Yard Waste - (Use your regular garbage/recycling service instead.)

Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) for fast, free drop-off of the items below, Go to www.hhw.org or call 408-299-7300:

  • Automotive and Cleaning Products

  • Fertilizers and Pesticides

  • Fluorescent Light Bulbs

  • Gas cylinders and Tanks

  • Paints, Solvents, and more
