It’s a Bug-a-Palooza in Santa Clara County! Don’t miss Vector Control District’s Open House event on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Bring your children, friends, or co-workers to meet staff, see facilities and equipment, and participate in fun events throughout the day.
See a bug or insect in your backyard that you can’t identify? Bring it to the Open House for Vector Control staff to help identify! And don’t miss out on laboratory tours, mock backyard inspections for mosquito breeding containers, insect arts and crafts, educational games, and much more.
Visitors can see exhibits about mosquitoes, ticks, bedbugs, commensal rodents, and marshland mosquito operations. Participants can also view interactive displays on mosquitofish eating larvae, agricultural and mosquito traps, insects that feed on mosquitoes, bees and honey production, and wildlife.

About Vector Control District: The Santa Clara County Vector Control District is a County public health program that controls and monitors disease-carrying insects such as mosquitoes and ticks, and other harmful pests such as yellow jackets and rats. All of its services are free and paid for by property assessments, including mosquito inspection and control, delivery of mosquitofish, inspection and advice for rats and mice, insect identification, wildlife advice and inspection, and community presentations.
