Police have closed down West San Carlos Street between Buena Vista and Willard avenues in response to a family disturbance.
The disturbance was first reported shortly after 2:30 p.m. at a home on the 1500 block of West San Carlos Street, said Sgt. Enrique Garcia of the San Jose Police Department.
A man in his 30s or 40s got into a verbal argument with his mother and allegedly started destroying things. The mother left the home and the son has refused to come out.
