National Night Out is a crime and drug prevention event that is sponsored nationally by the National Association of Town Watch and co-sponsored locally by the San Jose Police Department. This year is the 35th anniversary of National Night Out with over 38 million people across the country expected to participate.
National Night Out is designed to:
Heighten crime and drug awareness;
Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime efforts;
Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police/community partnerships;
Send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
Stop by and meet some new neighbors and learn about how you can become a more active part in our community and help us make this a better place for everyone.
