Sporadic Power Outages Throughout Neighborhood

BVNA

High winds have been blowing trees into overhead lines which has resulted in multiple outages and down lines in Buena Vista and throughout the city. PG&E is working to restore service to all customers.

This has also resulted in a number of roads been shut down as line crews secure and repair the downed wires.

Downed power lines are dangerous; never touch them. For safety’s sake, always assume that a fallen power line is live, and follow these guidelines:

  • Avoid touching the downed line with your hand or an object, such as a stick, broom or pole.

  • Avoid touching anything, such as a car, object or equipment, or anyone who is in contact with a fallen power line.

  • Keep children and pets away from fallen electric lines.

  • Avoid driving over a fallen power line.

  • Call 911 immediately to report a fallen power line.

If you are concerned about trees that appear too close to power lines or dead near power lines, please call 1-800-743-5000 (1-800-PGE-5000) and request a visit from an arborist.
