Viva Calle in The Alameda Business District and Greater Rose Garden area this Sunday, September 22nd, 2019 from 10am - 3pm
VivaCalleSJ (pronounced Vee-Va Ka-Ye SJ) is a free recreational program that closes miles of scenic San José streets. VivaCalleSJ’s route will take participants through some of San José’s most eclectic and historic neighborhoods. The open street events brings people and communities together to walk, bike, skate, play and explore the explore the city like never before! It is not a race, so you can start anywhere and have as much fun as you want, in either direction.
ABOUT THE EVENT
Viva CalleSJ is an open streets program that temporarily connects 6 miles of San Jose streets to bring communities together to walk, bike, skate, play and explore the city in streets free of cars.This program is managed by the City of San José Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services.
While there is a Viva CalleSJ 5k component within the route, Viva CalleSJ is not a race and there are no start or end points. People can join in at any point along the “Parks to Roses” route and visit hubs along the route at Backesto, Arena Green, and the San Jose Municipal Rose Garden.
Viva CalleSJ will be going through The Alameda Business District and Greater Rose Garden Neighborhoods THIS Sunday, September 22nd from 10am - 3pm. The event will temporarily close San Jose streets between Backesto Park (HUB) near the Japantown Business District to the Arena Green (HUB) / SAP Center (where Sharks Fan Fest 2019 will be happening - https://www.nhl.com/sharks/fans/fan-fest) through The Alameda Business District and onwards to the Municipal Rose Garden (HUB).
