You may have noticed the signs are out as the resurfacing crews get ready to repave W San Carlos. The work will be taking place between June 13th and July 5th and will reduce traffic to single lanes in each direction while the work is being done. This is a holdover project from last year that was delayed as a result of in climate weather.

While efforts are being made to reduce the impact on neighbors and businesses, you should expect delays and plan accordingly while the road work is being done.

We encourage everyone to help make sure things remain safe for drivers, pedestrians, and work crews while traveling through maintenance and construction work zones. Motorists can make trips a little safer by remembering the following work zone safety tips.

  • Do not speed in work zones; obey the posted speed limits.

  • Stay Alert! Expect the unexpected.

  • Watch for workers; drive with caution.

  • Don't change lanes unnecessarily.

  • Avoid using mobile phones while driving in work zones.

  • Turn on headlights so that workers and other drivers can see you.

  • Be especially alert at night while driving in work zones.

  • Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.

  • Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.

  • Anticipate lane shifts, and merge when directed to do so.

  • Be Patient!
