The city is gearing up to resurface and seal some 300 miles of streets, including a large swath of W San Carlos Ave between Bascom and Lincoln. Although voters passed the Measure B sales tax in 2016 in part because of the promise of road repairs, those funds had been tied up in a legal challenge until recently. This project was scheduled to be done last year but was delayed due to other projects and weather.
While the start date hasn't been set in stone at this point in time, it is estimated to begin around June 10th and will likely end around the 19th. One lane of traffic will be closed for road work at a time so if you can avoid the area, you should do so. This will likely result in increased traffic on neighborhood streets as well so expect delays throughout the area.
